They/Them | How to pronounce my name

Forest V Kapo Te Atiawa - Ngāti Raukawa.

Trained in contemporary dance in Aotearoa New Zealand, and now residing in Bendigo, which is located on the lands of Dja Dja Wurrung and the Taungurung People of the Kulin Nation in Victoria Australia. Here they work as a nurse, they garden, hike, and make performances.

Their 'performances' are often socio-political, interpreted and blended via mythologies and text; these help to navigate the structures/ through time and geographies.

While the contemporary narratives are explored via a multi-disciplinary approach, they use whatever it takes, be it sound, text, movement, installation images and performances, as tools that are a way to engage with diverse environments.

With renegade spirit, Forest enjoys being an artist stating,

'“I've been and am so very lucky having had past, present and future opportunities to facilitate, choreograph, improvise and collaborate in performance events and festivals around the world.”

Forest was in Karanga, which featured in Tempo Dance Festival 2019.
