Suspended in an endless countdown, a group of pro-wrestlers and dancers embody stasis. Join for a moment, or stay for three hours to watch the delirium unfold.
A hypnotic loop. Repetition without resolution. The future stalled.
MARKING OUT 3 COUNT centres on the role of the referee in professional wrestling. In the "three-count" the referee slaps the mat to determine the winner and loser, though the outcome has already been scripted. Both essential and superfluous, this theatrical gesture creates an illusion of fairness, making a fixed result feel legitimate and live. Taken out of context, its meaning contorts, expands, unravels.
